Refund policy.
The short version. Try Thren for 14 days. If it's not working for you, email hello@thren.io from the address on your account and we'll refund you in full — no essay, no retention call. After the 14 days, you can cancel any time from your account dashboard; we won't charge you again.
14-day money-back guarantee
If a Thren plan isn't working for you, request a full refund within fourteen (14) days of your original purchase date. The window starts at the moment of purchase, not the moment you first open a lesson, so you've got two full weeks to try the product against your actual schedule.
This applies to your first paid invoice on any of our recurring plans:
- Monthly — billed every four weeks. If you started on the intro offer, the 14-day window still applies to that first invoice.
- Yearly — billed once per year. The 14-day window applies to the original purchase date.
How to request a refund
Send an email to hello@thren.io from the address on your account with the subject line "Refund request". Include:
- The name on the account (so we can find the right Stripe customer).
- The approximate purchase date.
- (Optional but appreciated) a sentence on why — we use it to improve the product, not to push back on the refund.
You do not need to fill out a form, submit a screenshot of your card, or speak to a retention agent. One email is enough.
What's not eligible
The following purchases are outside the standard refund window:
- Programs where a completion certificate has already been issued to your account. The certificate is a verifiable credential we have already produced and registered on your behalf.
- Requests received more than fourteen (14) days after the original purchase date.
- Recurring subscription renewals. After the first invoice, the 14-day guarantee no longer applies to subsequent charges. Cancel from your account before the next renewal date and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Bundles or codes redeemed through a third party — refund eligibility for those follows the partner's policy. Contact them directly first.
How auto-renewal works
Our recurring plans renew automatically until you cancel. Specifically:
- The monthly plan renews every four weeks at the standard rate. If you started on the intro offer, the first invoice is reduced; subsequent invoices are at the standard rate.
- The yearly plan renews once per year on the anniversary of your original purchase.
- Stripe sends you a receipt for every charge, sent to the email on your account.

Cancellations vs. refunds
If you simply want to stop being charged going forward, you do not need a refund — just cancel. Cancellation is one click from your account dashboard via the Stripe customer portal (the Manage billing button on the Account page). You will keep access until the end of the current billing period; we will not charge you again.
Use the refund process only when you want money returned for a recent purchase that meets the criteria above. If your situation falls between the two (for example, you were charged for a renewal you didn't realise was coming), email us — we'll work something out.
Processing time
We confirm refund requests within two business days and submit the refund to Stripe at the same time. The funds typically reach your original card or bank account within five to ten business days, depending on your issuer. We will revoke access to the refunded plan from your account at the moment the refund is submitted, so save any personal notes you want to keep before sending the request.
If you paid with a third-party method that has its own settlement timeline (for example, certain regional bank transfers), processing may take slightly longer. We'll keep you posted by email if anything looks unusual on our end.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank before contacting us, we'll respond to it through Stripe. We'd much rather you email hello@thren.io first — refunds happen faster, and there's no risk of the chargeback being declined and leaving you in a worse position. Chargebacks initiated for the purpose of evading the policy above (for example, after a certificate has been issued and the 14-day window has lapsed) may result in account closure.
